Tsujidou-san no Jun’ai Road Update #5

Hi there. Have you been enjoying the common route?

Here’s our weekly update.

Common Route Part 1: 100.0%
Common Route Part 2: 71.07%
Ai: 0.0%
Renna: 0.0%
Maki: 0.0%
Saeko: 0.0%
Total: 17.5%

We’ve gotten a lot of positive feedback so we’re quite pleased with that. Please do keep telling your opinion on the VN and our translation, cause it’ll make for a better product in the end.

Other than that, there’s not much to say.

See you next week.

Tsujidou-san no Jun’ai Road Update #4 (Common Route First Part Patch)

No point in me posting progress, cause there hasn’t been anything new translated.

Instead, here’s the first part of the common route.

Download here. Just extract the contents of the 7z into the Tsujidou root folder.

It has come to our attention that there are some issues with the patch. For one, on higher resolution the main menu is not translated. Please download this and extract it to the root Tsujidou folder. That should fix it.

People have also reported that they couldn’t get the game to work. Please download this and follow the steps in the README.txt.

If you run into any other issues, please let us know.

Here’s the Config Menu translation.

Just like I said last week, this patch’s purpose is partly to see how people react to the story/characters, and partly to get feedback on how we’ve chosen to translate the way of speaking, quirks, habits, accents, etc.

If you have any feedback, be it positive or negative, please let us know here on our blog.

We’re aware there’s an issue with the ending skits not display correctly when you quit the game. They’re displayed correctly if you go to the Skit Mode in the Extra menu however.

As for now, please enjoy the first part of the common route.

Tsujidou-san no Jun’ai Road Update #4 (Common Route First Part Patch)

Tsujidou-san no Jun’ai Road Update #3

I have some good news and some bad news this week. But let’s start off with the update as usual.

Common Route Part 1: 100.0%
Common Route Part 2: 0.0%
Ai: 0.0%
Renna: 0.0%
Maki: 0.0%
Saeko: 0.0%
Total: 13.05%

As you can see, the first part of the common route is done. The second part of the common route is only half as long as the first part, so we should be done with that soon under normal circumstances.

Unfortunately, circumstances will not be normal for the next 10 days. Triplicate will be busy starting from tomorrow and he won’t be able to translate until the 18th. Stuff like this happens, and we hope you understand.

That’s it for the bad news, but like I said; I also have some good news.

The end of the first part of the common route was pretty good, and as such we’ve decided to release a partial patch for the first part of the common route. This patch will still very much be a work in progress patch, but we feel like it’s a smart thing to do to get something tangible out there.

Reason for that is, is that we’re very curious what people think of the VN up until the point we’ve translated. By which we mean the story itself, but also our translation. We both feel we’ve captured the style of talking of the delinquents so far, but we’re very curious as to how it’s received. The speaking habits of the characters and the accents used by the characters is still something we’re playing around with, and we’ve settled on a style that we think fits.

So this patch is also a way for us to measure if people like how we’ve done that; if you aren’t happy or if you have any better alternatives, please let us now and we’ll get back to you.

The script has had one readthrough so far, so while Trip’s being MIA I’ll be going over the script again. Once that’s done Trip will check my final changes and we’ll release the patch shortly after that. This should all be done before the 18th.

Note that the patch won’t be final, and that it’ll probably see some changes in the future.

So yeah, once again, some good news and some bad news. We hope you understand.

See you next week(?)

Tsujidou-san no Jun’ai Road Update #1

Hi there, time for the first ‘real’ weekly Tsujidou update

Common Route Part 1: 57.93%

Common Route Part 2: 0.0%
Ai: 0.0%
Renna: 0.0%
Maki: 0.0%
Saeko: 0.0%
Total: 7.56%

There’s not a lot to say about the translation, so I’ll give you my first impression about the game/VN.

Coming from Hatsukoi, Tsujidou is a lot more kinetic. Sprites move around a lot, and get bigger/smaller depending on the distance of the pov. The faces are also a welcome change, with a lot of different expressions per character. Voices are great, and the most important part, the girls are great too.

We’ve also decided on the order of the routes we’re going to translate, but it might change when we near the split, so we’re gonna wait a bit with announcing it.

That’s all for me, see you next week.

Tsujidou-san no Jun’ai Road Update #0

Hi guys.

We’re back, and with a small progress update and some other stuff.

Trip has actually been working on the translation while he was on ‘break.’ As such, here’s the progress update.

Common Route Part 1: 25.34%
Common Route Part 2: 0.00%
Route #1: 0.00%
Route #2: 0.00%
Route #3: 0.00%
Route #4: 0.00%
Total: 3.31%

Other than that, we’ve also decided on our next games we’re going to translate; and more importantly, in what order.

Tsujidou Jun’Ai Road > Hatsukoi Append Discs > Hoshi Ori > Tsujidou Virgin Road

That means there will be quite some time between Jun’Ai and Virgin, but I won’t deny Trip his wishes any longer.

We’ll probably be a bit slower with Tsujidou than with Hatsukoi, because we want to make sure to get the dialogue spot on, in regards to accents, cursing, dialects, etc.

We also don’t know yet what kind of patches we’ll be releasing. We’ll most likely be doing partial patches again, but we don’t know if we’re going to release the Common Route parts separately, or if we’re going to wait with them until we’re done with the first real route. We’ll keep you posted.

That’s it for me this time, I’ll see you next week.

Hatsukoi 1/1 Progress Update #17 – Full Patch

There it is. After seventeen weeks we can now finally proudly release the full Hatsukoi 1/1 patch.

I’m not one for words, so I’ll keep it short. Trip told me he wanted to translate something cute to fill the void that Nisekoi left us. He originally found Hoshi Ori, which I veto’d, cause it’d be too long a VN for our first project.

We then decided to take a look at tone work’s’s other visual novels, and then he discovered Hatsukoi 1/1. After experimenting a bit we got the text insertion working, and we decided to actually go for it. Seventeen weeks later, and here we are.  I liked working on this VN. As you might know we come from manga, so working on something this big really was quite fresh.

I could go on and on but Trip’s thought on our entire process match my own pretty much, so I’ll just link you to his blog.

There’s also a review on his review blog, but it will contain spoilers so be careful if you haven’t read the VN yet.

Some have asked me for my rankings of the girls and the routes; I won’t go into detail like Trip, but here it is.

Routes:
Runa > Maya > Kyou > Midori > Yukino

Girls:
Runa > Maya = Yukino > Kyou > Midori

For now – although useless when you consider the title of this post – here is our final progress update. As always, text in bold are updates.

Prologue: 100.0%
Common: 100.0%
Midori: 100.0%
Yukino: 100.0%
Runa: 100.0%
Kyou: 100.0%
Maya: 100.0%
Total: 100.0%

Yes; Total: 100% looks pretty nice if you ask me.

Anyway, onto the important stuff. As always, there are three files you can download.

Manual Install: Please use this file if you don’t trust random executables from the internet (very smart). In this 7z there are two folders. Please read the readme as to how to use the manual patch.

Automatic Install – Fresh: Use this executable if you have not used one of our previous patches. Just run the installer and point it to the Hatsukoi 1/1 folder.

Automatic Install – Yukino: Use this executable if you have used one of our previous patches. Just run the installer and point it to the Hatsukoi 1/1 folder.

I just got word the automatic patches aren’t working correctly. Please download the 7z archive for now. We will update the automatic patches asap.

As always, if you find any errors in the script, just notify us on /vn/ or in a reply on this blog. We’ll update the links every so often, or maybe post a new link just for the script.

We would also like to thank everyone who has supported us throughout these seventeen weeks, especially /vn/ where both Trip and I are pretty much lurking 24/7. They’re a weird bunch but we love them nonetheless.

We’d also like to thank our hacker whom we got into contact with through the fuwanovel forums. I haven’t asked him if he wants to be named explicitly, if he wishes for that we’ll include him here. Just know that we’re very grateful.

That will be all for us for now. We will now take a much deserved rest of one to two weeks, and then we’ll start on Tsujidou for real.

We hope you will enjoy Hatsukoi 1/1, and we’ll see you in a few weeks with our first Tsujidou progress update.
